Say Hello to our 800th playgroup student

We welcomed our 800th playgroup student, Kouki, last Friday. It's hard to believe that so many children have passed through our playgroup since we started teaching two neighbours in our living room in 2007. Thanks to all who have come and looking forward to meeting all who come later...

１１月２７日、８００人目のお友達が親子プレイグループに来てくれました！２００７年１０月に自宅のリビングルームでスタートした親子プレイグループですが、もう８００人に達したなんて夢のようです。時間つくって通ってくれるママさんたちには本当に感謝。そして何よりもかわいい子供たちの笑顔が見れるから、私たちもがんばれちゃうんです。

Halloween Cafe 2015

今年もハロウィンの時期となりました。

毎年仮装してくる子、仮装が大嫌いな子、いろいろいます。

みんなそれぞれ違うから面白い！

今年はハロウィン・カフェをオープンします。

カフェのメニューはもちろん子供たちが作ります。

クッキング終了後、カフェを開き、注文して食べます。

これぜーんぶ英語でやっちゃいます。

Summer projects at Tower English

It's been a long, hot summer, but an enjoyable one for us. This summer, we played Pictionary, published books, had a summer treasure hunt, made slime and made ice cream -- all in English, of course.

Tower English Speech Day 2015

Thanks to all the children (and their parents) who worked so hard on their speeches. Here are just a few to give a taste of the day. The quality of the speeches was very high, I think the children worked especially hard. Everyone deserved their god medals. I'm sorry that we couldn't give Disneyland tickets to everyone.

This week, the children at Tower English are busy rehearsing for our annual speech day. This year, we'll be holding it at Abisuta community centre in the great hall. See you on Sunday afternoon.

We love pancakes!

Every year at Tower English we try to do something fun for Valentine's Day, usually involving chocolate. Some years we took the older kids to a restaurant to order food in English. Last year we made chocolates. This year, we thought we'd try making pancakes with the children. All in English of course. We hope the kids got the message that learning English is useful, fun and sometimes even delicious too.
