Valentine Pancake Week 2016 at Tower English

毎年恒例のバレンタインデーイベントは、ホットケーキ作りです。トッピングで個性豊かな独自のホットケーキが出来上がっています。食材や調理道具を英語でどういうか？計る時の数字はなんて言えばいい？入れすぎた時は？美味しいときは笑顔でなんて言う？
ホットプレートを囲んで、笑顔いっぱいのホカホカするイベントです。

At Tower English we try to teach as much useful English as possible, and around Valentine's Day that means learning English by making pancakes.

"Can I have a pancake please?" "How many eggs do we need?" "Where is the chocolate sauce?" are the kinds of questions and answers that all Kindergarten and elementary school children practise through making their own pancakes.

And of course the most important English vocabulary: "Mmmm, delicious!"

Every year at Tower English we try to do something fun for Valentine's Day, usually involving chocolate. Some years we took the older kids to a restaurant to order food in English. Last year we made chocolates. This year, we thought we'd try making pancakes with the children. All in English of course. We hope the kids got the message that learning English is useful, fun and sometimes even delicious too.
